After last week's first round red light (which conveniently went unreported ) it was time to get serious.

Final round it was me and Jeff Doster in the 65 Dodge Coronet. I gave him a three second head start, pushed him out, and it was all mine!

Racing is fun, winning is funner!

Sure I watched it! It was probably one of the worse TV shows ever made! But then you have to remember that "Three's Company" and "Charlie's Angels" were the super hot shows in those days......

I have always been a Ford Galaxie fan.

In the early 80s Popular Hot Rodding ran two rare Ford articles in the same issue. One was a 56 Ford with a 427 and the other was a 61 Starliner with a 505 Cobra Jet. The title of the article on the Starliner was "Ballistic Barge". I put that one in my memory bank.

Then around 1984 Super Ford ran an article about the "Galactic Warriors", the early 60s Ford Galaxies with a "Star Wars" theme. Battlestar Galactica came to mind.

I have never "officially" named any of my cars but when I got on Ford Muscle in 2000 and the car started to get popular someone suggested I name it. I mentioned the Ballistic Barge and Battlestar Galactica. Battlestar Galactica won and so it was named.

Basically, I had chosen that name for a future car in 1984. The name stuck but then quite some time later some whiner on FM said that the 64 Ford station wagon named Battlestar Galacitic already had the name and I had "stolen" it. So I said no prob and changed to Battlestar One. Squadron Leader, Numero Uno, The Big Cheese, Whatever............

Although I think the BS1 abbreviation probably works the best.

I wonder if he was refering to the old Battlestar or the new show. I am a fan of the old one, but not the new one. (Haven't watched it, but somehow Starbuck being a woman doesn't sit well with me.) Remember Galactica 1980? That season has ONE good episode...where they show what happened to Starbuck. I have the original movie on dvd...I will get the original series when I get the opportunity to do so cheap.

I didn't know there was a new one! But then again I haven't watched TV in so many years I can't remember!

I don't think I saw too many episodes of the old series but I remember one particular episode where they run across these Nazis that were exactly like the ones that were on earth way back when. They really think they are some Bad Muther Fathers! I don't recall the whole story. I guess some of the gang were on a small scout ship that got captured or something. The Bad Ass Nazis had 'em and they were really screwed.

Then the Battlestar rolls up and makes whatever they were running look like a little toy. The head Nazi dude looks at with really big eyes and says "WHAT IS THAT?????" Then Lorne Greene casually says, "That, my friend, is a Battlestar."

Hehe!

I remember him. Kind of a smart ass but good with the ladies. I think he got out of space travel and started up a line of coffee shops.

I went to the Edsel Club National Meet a few years ago and I thought I had made a mistake and ended up at a Star Trek convention.
