See the USA in your...

...Ford Edge! That's right boys and girls, the Mrs. and I are off on a cross country trek to the Grand Canyon early in the a.m. First stop is Memphis to see Elvis. He's living on the edge of town in a doublewide. He's lost a lot of weight of late and is on oxygen, but the lip curl is still there. The hip replacement two years ago put an end to the whole lotta shakin' going on. I'll tell him y'all said "Howdy". Greg, he said never mind on the caddy resto. The doc told him no more drivin' and Priscilla took away the keys.

From Memphis, it's cross the Mississippi on I-40 and drive till I can't drive any more. Crash for the night and then more of the same till we get there. From the canyon, it's south into Arizona for some sight seeing, then into New Mexico, on to San Antonio, Texas and back home. We'll have stop overs Carlsbad caverns, maybe take in some alien life forms around area 51, and ride the gondolas in San Antonio. It's a two week whirlwind tour, but we figure we might as well see it while were healthy enough to enjoy it, to realize what we're doing, and to still care.

We'll take lotsa pics and share em when we return. Y'all leave a light on fer us.

My wife and I were considering doing a multi state Pennsylvania/Texas loop but then we came to the realization that after 3 days in the same car one of us would be insane and the other dead or in jail.

Hahahaha, That's EXACTLY why my beautiful wife and I don't travel farther than about 6 hours distance at a time together

My wife and I flew to Arizona on a cramped Southwest aeroboxcar to visit Sedona for our 30th anniversary. Great time, but driving there? I don't know about that-lots of nothing in between here and there that was better seen from 30,000 feet if I had been able to actually see out a window.

God's speed, Doug. By the way, a McDonalds in Phoenix used to have one of the largest cruise-ins on Saturday nights out there.

More info on the Phoenix cruise-in. It's actually in Scottsdale.
