My 59 Merc/60 Fury/59 Buick customer has decided to sell his 67 Pontiac.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cars-Trucks___1967-Pontiac-Bonneville-19-000-Miles-Rare-428-LIKE-NEW_W0QQitemZ220275149906QQddnZCarsQ20Q26Q20TrucksQQddiZ2282QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item220275149906&_trkparms=72%3A727%7C39%3A1%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1308&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245

A while back I mentioned that he wanted me to do a major freshen up on his nice semi-original 65 and 66 Bonneville hardtops. Paint job, engine compartment, etc. Most comments kinda went like "WHY?????"

Maybe this will clue ya!

Greg, you know me well enough to understand this statement... I am speechless! I really like big cars, even the GM cars, but that's just sick. Neat car though

I can really appreciate the looks of that car from the back and fron the sides, but man oh man is that front end ugly as any car I've ever seen....

Not to criticize, but I can detect a slight difference in the rear quarter/decklid to the door and front paint just from the photo.

Still it's cool as my brother brought home a '66 428 convertible 4 speed when he was in the Army and we drove around in the PA October weather with the heater on and me in the back seat. That was the first time I ever got the flu! Amazingly powerful car with way too small tires to harness it. My mom bought a new '69 Bonneville 4 door hardtop later that I got to flog. Had the skirts and all.

Now if only it was a 2+2.....

I think that is one nice car, you were right, I don't really see anything that needs to be "done" to it. Sure it has a few 'honorable' dents, chips - etc. But to me, that just shows that its a real car. I remember when Pontiac was trying to revive the Big car, Big motor platform. I don't remember the exact words of the marketing, but the hood blister and special trim of the 2 + 2 was right up there with the GTO, it was the Pontiac answer to the Impala SS,  for a while. I haven't seen one or even a picture of one since the 80's.

I don't know what the market will bear for that model, in that condition - but its definately Not a $1000 car that you would expect to find at the local back street car lot.

By the way, what was the final result on the "Fury"? I must have missed the reveal. Last shots I remember you posting were when you stripped off the body putty and found all the rust in the rockers, the patch panels on the rear fins.

Mind running picture of that build again?
