Decision time

I pulled the timing chain & installed a looser one, still rattles to beat the band. The choice is to pull it & take off the pan or run it until something shows itself. If I pull it, it'll be the end of the summer before I can afford to fix it. If I leave it in I can at least go 60' to tune the chassis. All I can go is 60' right now since it needs a steering gear. One way or another there is something really wrong. At least it has good oil pressure happy.gif

I know your itching to run this thing, but if finances are tight, I wouldnt risk hurting it worse by running it until something happens. But thats me

Decided to take closer look. I put the cooling system on it so as to let it finally get a little heat in it, just in case. While allowing it to warm to 140* I got in front & listened closely. It is beginning to sound like the front sheet metal might be loose. Can't place it exactly but it sounds like it is there. Think I'll get a new steering gear if we sell the horse & put the lower valance & old bumper on it & give it a little shot
