Anyone ever use an electric water temperature gauge? I am wanting a clean look in the '66 & if they are accurate I would prefer to use one instead of running a mechanical one through the firewall. Trying to limit firewall holes to a #6 AN bulkhead connector & a 22-pin wiring bulkhead connector.

I do, it's part of my Dakota digital dash.
You have the sensor on the side of the block and 1 wire.

The one I am looking at is a Autometer SportComp with one wire. My thought is if it's good enough for a late model Mustang, it should be OK for a 1200 horsepower one as well wink.gif

hey i run autometer Old Tyme White gauges in my dash .. installed em last spring and they are soooo nice.. so far.. as for preformance.. they seem to be just as accurate as the mech ones i had, and they are so much easier to plumb and work with..

I prefer mechanical guages but I would think that a high quality electric unit will work just fine.

Just do the old cooking thermometer comparo and you're there!

Had one on the Falcon at the crossover in the manifold. Seemed to work fine.

The Temp and Volt in the Galaxie are both electric, the Fuel and Oil are mechanical
