Well, the storms came through here yesterday with a vengenace. No damage to my place BUT, on the way home from church last night, a tree was blown down in front of me. I was going about 60. Cut hard right and still caught the outer edge of the thing and busted the Ranger's windshield and tore the d-side mirror off. I got the truck home ok and cleaned out my shorts. Getting the w/s replaced tomorrow and will replace the mirror myself since the insurance deducatable won't cover the cost of it anyway. At least we have full glass replacement coverage here in Ky.
On the plus side, got my new computer hooked up and running.
We had screamin' high winds here last night. Just howlin' around the house, no way to sleep! Everything seems to be intact, with some residual wind today.
Glad that tree didn't eat you and the rig! I had a big ass limb fall off a tree and land on my Mustang as I was driving a few years ago. It was dark and it hit on the roof, the rear window, and the trunk lid. Came out of nowhere and scared the crap out of me!
Sorry to hear that Doug. THAT would be scary! I heard there were lots of power outages again down there. About 70,000 up here are out. At least no tornados, but the sirens went off here yesterday about 4PM and it was pretty cloudy and dark. Lots of rain and wind for about 30 minutes then just wind all night. I was with a friend at lunch yesterday and the windows of the place were open....and it felt nice! Mid-February in Ohio and the windows are open...jeesh.
Now thats being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
I remember reading a news story several years ago where two people were riding in a vehicle that was struck by a falling limb that went through the windshield and into the chest of the passenger, killing him instantly.
Went with the HP Slimline Pavilion. Good price, faster processor and more memory than comparative Dells. It was top rated via PC magazine. Works great so far, though I'm pretty sure I don't like Vista, least not yet...
Is this a good price for this model?
This is just the basic configuration without any add-ons.

Ed, looks like a pretty good price. I found mine for $429 at office depot. Best Buy had a similar model but with nly 250G ram, also for $429, which is why I went with Office Depot.
Shoot Doug, That's more then enough power for what you need it to do.
What I find odd though, It list's it as 3GB of RAM, But there are only two dimm's. I think they used 2x2GB sticks yielding 4GB, But 32bit Vista see's only 3GB of it. Either way, Nice machine.
In this case, You could of built one for a little less. With more room to grow later on. But knowing that Dougster does'nt like to mess with that crap. You did good.
