Personally I like the Avanti (another Studebaker that got mixed reviews), even the bastardized Avanti II. I guess it all boils down to what you are look for or where your focus is when looking at ths styling of a car design or its body style. You have to think more than one person must have thought it was worth selling - no matter how ugly a car is (new cars excepted - now its all about, buy what we are selling or leave).
When compared against the more popular, mass market cars of the time the "Hawk" was more aero than anything else on the American market, not to mention that those little suckers were pretty quick - Whats not to like?
