Thinking of picking up a pick-up

Hope everyone is having a nice Sunday, its been sunny and a little rainy here. Anyways, I've been watching this truck on Craigslist for the last week or two, and I think it would be a good buy. Is there anything I should look out for? Its a white '65 ford f100 2wd. Is there anything tricky or bad about these? Is there any place I should look for rot specifically?

Thanks

Joe

Rot? Everywhere from what I've seen, they're fairly rusty units. Inner fenders, bed, quarters, cab corners.

Otherwise they're my favorite Fseries. Can't remember at the moment if that's a solid frontend or TTB.

There are two I know of, cab supports & radiator support. Both
really rust & no one makes a core support. Look where the bolts attach it to the frame.

Hey Rick, LMC now sells reproduction radiator supports for 65-66s. I wish they had them when I owned my 66 Ranger, I would probably still have it. sad.gif

WAY cool! Looks like I'll need one for the '66. The one in the '65 is pretty good considering it's almost rust free

That don't look too bad from here.

Cab mounts rot and the front of the bed due to no drain holes...

Go check it out! 352 and 3 on the tree happy.gif One fun truck! $1,000....

Keep an eye out for bondo... unless it was greg doing the work, if you have a good eye you can alway's spot questionable cover ups..

Personally I would pay a thousand for the truck & be ecstatic! If the rust isn't too bad that's a bargain

Since nobody else has said it. Look for rust behind the tires where the paint gets knocked off from road debris.
