Not sure if you guys saw this yet. This is good news.

Veteran Pro Stock racer Larry Morgan will make the switch from Dodge and will race a Ford Mustang in the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series beginning in 2010.

We are very excited to be involved with Ford Racing and think this is a great opportunity for myself and everyone here at Larry Morgan Racing Inc., said Morgan. I am looking forward to working closely with Ford Racing Engineering in the design of new cylinder heads and blocks necessary to bring their Pro Stock program to the top of the class.

Later this season, Ford Racing will debut its 2010-model Ford Mustang body, which has already been tested in the wind tunnel.

Our goal is to have a Ford motor completed and be testing by Indy, said Morgan. I want to go into the 2010 season with a competitive engine program and a competitive race car, and I think the switch to Ford will allow me to do that.

Morgan is tied for 10th in the NHRA Full Throttle Series Pro Stock points standings after eight events. The Newark, Ohio, native has 16 NHRA wins, including nine in Pro Stock

If he starts winning a rule change will be in order as usual.

NHRA best be careful - they run off Ford there might not be Pro Stock for very long. The next PS might be gubberment specified - not more than 500V, two alternators maximum, NHRA approved OEM overcurrent protection....

Greg, you took the words right outta my mouth, or at least off my keyboard. A Ford in NHRA Pro-Stock will mess with the status quo and we all know how much the wallie's hate that...

A snowball's chance, I say. About the same chance as having a real stock bodied car back in Nascar.

I predict something along the lines of a Kaase hemi maybe?

Word is it'll be an all new engine that has nothing to do with Kaase. Looks like it might be a wedge. All I know for sure is new heads & block. Shoot Erika Enders is close to qualifying her Mustang running old stuff. With GM & Chrysler in the dumpster it looks like good times ahead. Supposedly there's several teams making the jump to Ford at the end of this year
