Went To The Big Show

Took the two B-59 convertibles and the 67 Pontiac to the AACA Spring National Meet today. It had rained like hell all week and the grassy field was pretty soggy. Cars were getting stuck in the mud here and there. We were lucky and got parked on a high well drained area. It turned out to be a nice sunny day and fun was had by all!

The event was 10 minutes from here so I went over to check out the awards presentation.

The white car scored AACA National First Prize (First Junior).

The red car scored AACA Senior Award.

All in all not a bad day.....happy.gif

First a junior award at Hershey October '08, then the senior today with the red car. I told Grg today that we need to go for the turbo grand high exalted mystic ruler award next.

A good day for Cook's Restorations!

Ross, I didn't meet up with your friend. I had my cell phone turned on but since I never carry it I'm not accustomed to listening for it to ring. Maybe it rang and I thought it was someone else's.....happy.gif

Greg, he said he never even tried.

Delayed unloading because of mud, then unloaded, cleaned up the car, then they put hay down and he got covered with hay dust and had to clean again.

(FWIW if there is hay in Carlisle, the hay will stay on my 70, I am way lazier)

He got his senior though, so he was happy.

That's cool, Ross, we'll see you on Friday. We're going to get there about noon and set up camp for a cookout and stuff.

Tom, glad you mentioned the Pontiac! Crap, almost forgot about that one. It had previously gotten First Junior (National First Prize), Senior Award, and now on Saturday it got the Preservation Award.

That's the first time I scored an AACA Trifecta! First Junior, Senior, and Preservation all in one day.

Joe says he will show the red car at the Grand National show next summer so that will be another service stripe. If it wins......happy.gif
