Talked to my dad in Fla. this afternoon. He's been in and out of the hospital all Summer and is feeling really down. He can't seem to get his strength back and it's getting him depressed. He's only 71, but I'm really worried he's starting to give up because of all his health problems.

So, I got to thinking (always a dangerous thing). His favorite car is a 49-51 Olds with the Rocket V8. I'm thinking about trying to find him one and ship it to him as a suprise, maybe as a way to help him snap out of it. He has the garage space.

That thing is a real highway locomotive. My Grampa had a 50 Olds 98 Sedan when my uncle first started driving. I understand that it got it's share of abuse from both. I was 6 when it got traded on a 56 Victoria so I definitely remember a few rides.

Yepper, too rich for my blood. I think he'd be afraid to drive it, lol. I'm beginning to lean toward something a little later that also has a/c. I've spotted a couple decent Mark III Lincoln's as possibilities. I was gonna buy a driver for me to take to Woodward, but I think I'm gonna go this direction instead.
