We can also prohibit access if you don't meet certain criteria. We own it, we take the rap for your DCA violating music thievery - don't like it don't use it.
This is standard stuff for CYA. You connect to a system/network, you become an extension of that network. The admin or owner has every right to warn you and take whatever steps they deem necessary to protect that network. If you have a screen up on a secure connection to some site and your internet connection is doing something else, you could conceivably become a bridge between the secure system and the unsecure world. That's BAD and if we think you are letting BAD STUFF into our network we're gonna go all CIA on your punk azz.
