Well, checked it out on the way to the office this morning. If you look at the pic above, you'll notice the nice painted sheetmetal surround on the plexi roof. Not so on the car I looked at. Instead, there's these funky metal strips screwed into what looks to be rubber weatherstrip all the way around this thing; some of which are pulling out and hanging loose. I shudder to think what rust awaits the unitiated beneath. Best to walk away and keep looking. Better things await.

That nice painted sheet metal surround is supposed to be a stainless pretty strip that covers the Plexiglas seal on the roof isn't it?

Gary, to answer your question, no. There is sheet metal between the stainless of the w/s and the trim on the plexi roof. See the similar mercury version below. You can distinctly see the correct body color around the edge. The car I looked at had no sheet metal exposed. It was covered by some steel strips and rubber, probably to hide rust and minimize a nasty leak.

Well Tim, I'd jump right on it, but if I bought something with shackles on the rear like that, Cook would probably have another heart attack...

It's really rare so I'll make it look stupid with ugly wheels and uglier shackles!
