How much should I insure my '58 wagon for?

I would like to know what y'all think would be good amount to insure my 1958 Ford wagon for. I originally insured when I first bought it and thought I should increase my coverage now that it has been painted and the interior has been partially finished. The insurance company asked me to give them an amount, but I am not good at estimating values. Thanks.

Man, you shouldn't wait so long between updates! That thing looks fantastic. I'm thinking $12k at least.

It looks fantastic!

Call your INS company, tell them you want an estimated replacement value. They will send you or tell you where to go to get a replacement value on it. That's easy.

Besides, it's totally your INS company that tells you whether or not they replace it or throw money at you....

Wow! That looks great.

I was going to say, "Tell 'em $1,000,000 and push it off a cliff," but it's too nice.happy.gif

You only need to insure it for about a week. That's how long it will take for the shipper to get it to my house and I'll write you a check. Or cash if you don't trust me...happy.gifhappy.gifhappy.gif

I don't know who you have for insurance but I would give Grundy a call www.grundy.com.

I have been with them for a long time and they are good. I got a rock chip in the windshield of the Edsel the other day. I called them yesterday morning and they simply said "Send us the bill".

I would say on the open market that car might do 15 so I would go for that if you think it will cover the replacement cost. Your labor is out the window, try to figure actual replacement cost of vehicle and parts. 15 probably won't do it. Give them a call especially if you have receipts to document costs.

Your car looks real nice but maybe someone could do a photoshop and make the wheels body color. You might be surprised!

The steering column would look good in the dash color and the steering wheel in red.

This is not criticism other than constructive. It looks good but I think those two items could make it look better.

The change in wheel color may look good, I know Greg did it to, I believe his Starliner and I was amazed.
But I really like the black wheels with the poverty caps.

Again, thats a NICE 58.
