Things are going great down here in Charleston. NOT!
On Friday morning I was driving to work on I-526 at about 4:45 AM.
Highway is pretty empty at that time of day and it was pouring rain at the time.
Got clipped from behind by an impaired driver at 65 mph.
I pulled over, he didn't.
Tried to catch back up but this pillar of the community decided not to stick around.
I managed to keep him in sight until he took the next off ramp.
His SUV smacked the curb good, vehicle went over the curb into the median.
He never lifted. Down through the median and back on the on ramp.
Figured it was no use tearing up my truck chasing this ass hat.
Never got a close enough to get a plate number.
Bought a new tail lamp assembly on Friday night and temp installed it to stay legal and visible.
Truck goes to the body shop tomorrow morning for repairs.
Estimated damage is about $800. Guess who has $1000 deductible on his truck.
Here's a picture of the damage after I got the new lamp installed.
All things consider, I got clipped at 65 mph and the truck stayed straight.
Could have been much worse so I'll count my blessing and work more overtime to offset the costs.
Had enough National frequent renter rewards so my rental car will cost me $7 for the 3 days.
Looking forward to April when I can go back to Kansas for a little while.
My boss says I'm going to like San Antonio.
