Rebuilding the infrastructures of disability organizations

September 7 2005, 7:34 PM

I have expertise with the business side of advocacy, to address the growth and development of their organization. After the initial recovery and response, disability groups located along the huricane front will need to rebuild both their physical site and their infrastructure. I can help. My organization, Disability Advocacy Training & Technical Assistance (Dat˛a) is a 501(c) (3) organization, designed specifically to fill the technical assistance gap related to ‘organizational efficiency’ for any consumer-run/consumer-responsive disability/mental health organizations. We offer a wide range of skills and services from setting up fiscal/accounting systems to the development of working policies and procedures to strategic planning.

I can help disability organizations rebuild a strong infrastructure, so that they can continue ‘doing good, well’.

I am on the Board of Directors of a Center for Independent Living in WV and have a disability. If you would like additional information or reference please contact me dat2a@aol.com.

anyone for shelter folks to do go carting?

February 6 2006, 7:30 PM

Has past historical perspective becasue presidents race on dirt tracks."League of their Own"with wheels.I am for recasting the way disability services and needs are met.there should be a "para bowl" like the superbowl.the way the olympics has the para olympics.so when america sneezes, the u.n would need our cold medicine and do things sooner.then people could more "make the news" the way some anchors have a commitment to quality of life in their communities.sicne there are some bus tours of some neighborhoods in new orleans, people like the WNBA should encourage more sports for moms and families displaced form their homes.people in america have lived through hurricanes before.but maybe current news could be younger people are being tested for the will to give for the first time in their lives.

dear sponsors.
my name is fr donald thomas.
i am a carer for disabled people in australia. melbourne.
i often visit disability site on the net to see what opportunities they have.
i worked in a workshop with disabled for 20 years as a leading hand in all sections plus 16 years in printing.
i also ran socials for them and helped out on camps.
in 2001 i left to be a carer for disabled and loke it very much.
i don't travel around with my job i just do it here where they live being with them 7 years.
i was hopeing i could help out your relief fund in a way i can get the children involved to recieve 10 dollars a month for thier fund to help them out.
i use to work with community houses in 1978 where i started a childrens writing and drawing club to write about thier hobbies\interest on what they like doing or where they like travelling to. if they were young they just sen't drawings back to us and we would send school stationary and party novelties back to them.this club wen't for 6 years before i left home to work with disabled people. so it can be disabled or just any children write or send drawings to our club.if this is a great club for you rto start for them i will then send you my address where you can forward the mail onto me. keep your great ork up for the katrina fund and hope i can be of help also to you all. god bless you always. fr don thomas.[carer for disabled people.]date.23.6.2006. time5.17pm melbourne.
