I'm talking about committing to a job, not the other application of the word commitment. :P
We recently hired a temp who signed a 6 week contract to help me on a project. Today he gave notice and said he won't be staying for the duration of his contract. So much for 6 weeks. It was more like 2.
Now, I suppose if he has a better opportunity, then that's great. We should all look out for what we want and make decisions to support those desires, but this got me thinking about commitment. Do you think the same 'rules of engagement' apply to a work commitment vs. any other type of commitment? I mean, if you sign for 6 weeks, then shouldn't you stay for six weeks?
