OK, I have been working at my current job for over a month now. I came in through a Temp. Agency, which I am still currently working for. They charge the Company an additional $13/hr. tacked on to my hourly rate and let's not even get to the killing they must make when I work overtime. I also am left without health insurance, sick days, among other benefits.
The Agency said the Company would hire about 6 wks. later if everything worked out and yes, everything has been working out just fine. My Supervisor has spoken to the CEO several times about making me an offer, but the man has not gotten off his bum and made this a priority. The weeks are passing and I am wondering if I should look elsewhere or just sit it out. I have gotten other calls and turned them down because of this current committment. Primarily, health insurance is a big thing with me since I have 2 children, who presently are not covered. I am a bit disconcerted since I really like it here.
I'd suggest giving it a little more time. Not too long, maybe a month or so more. You like it there so thats a plus. If you decide to hold out for very long and health insurance being an issue remember there are alternative options for insurance till they come to their senses or you find something better.
