In my office there is no casual wear day, not even friday.
They feel we need to dress professionally at all times.
In my department more specifically we do not often come in contact with the outside but still we need to dress as professional as we can. I'd call our dress code more of casual professional.
Once a year we are permitted to dress casual, for a fee of course. $10 bucks for two weeks.
It is done for charity, the United Way.
I wonder if this policy makes sense to anyone else.
We are in the middle of the united way you can wear casual clothes event and then we lose a week because of Hurricane Wilma.
I wear jeans..I didnt know it was an off week the week we came back. Next day I go back to my version of professional casual. The day after that a very "odd" co-worker goes up to management in a bold move and asked them wtf...
So according to brave co-worker we can do casual this coming week. Thats great! but im weary of this co-workers interpretation of things.
But I will say she sure has a set on her. lol.
Ok this lady comes up to me while I am making copies. She tries to make small talk and somehow the conversation turns to office attire. She continues to tell me she cant believe they dont let us be more casual cause we dont deal with that many outside people. I was thinking ok, point taken.
As I walked away from this lady I couldnt help but remember that she was wearing black jeans, boob displaying shirt and flip flops.
SO I wonder how well are they actually implementing the office attire rule anyway. Some people dress how they want anyway.
