Preference at Work

Today I confirmed one of my co-workers has special preference for another co-worker. This is going as far as giving that person privileges that no one else has. Well, let's say your supervisor decides to take off one of your duties and give it to someone else? In an ideal world, maybe. That's exactly what's going on in my dept.

My supervisor wants to take away one of my coworkers duties and she's diving the task among the rest of us. What's wrong with this picture? That is not fair. Of course, I had to confront her and say what was on my mind. I told her that task belonged specifically to that coworker. Now, if she needs help with doing that task, I could help. You can't just take away work from someone and give it to someone else just cause you like that person. I'm sorry! I can't take the crap from people sometimes, today is one of those days, I've decided I'm not putting up this crap this year, if she doesn't stop I will take it to my boss.

Well in my department we have something like that situation, sorta.
We break into groups of two and in that way there are preferences. Of course there is always one person left out. That person used to be me when I was a newbie and now its the person who used to be ring leader when it came to exclusion....apparently karma is very REAL...:P

Special treatment

We have an employee that i will dubb the elder and what tickles me most about the elder is that she can do NO wrong in my department. She is the 'excellent' employee regardless of the fact that she talks on the phone all day, makes racist remarks about 'certain' callers, needs assistance EVERY single time she updates a file we use weekly and that she has been using for years and also happens to take the concept of high maintenance to a new level.

Backstabber

I have lost all respect for one of my co-workers. So I guess that means I only 2 as of now, granted they are best 2 to respect but anyways.

This week I had a new function given to me to learn and also with this other co-worker. The thought was since the head people are one step away from retirement it would be best to train the last two people who would be left with still unknown functions. Everything was ok UNTIL the other trainee found out I was also getting trained. He lost it after that and complained WHY I needed to know that function. It was pointed out to him that its always good for more than ONE person to know how to do stuff. Everyone needs a back-up for vacations and such.

I just cant believe a grown person can be sooo caddy. He walked around before with his air of wow im cool when he thought he was the only one being trained on this and now his bubble was burst and has no issues on showing his discontent. He has major entitlement issues.

But how smart can he be if after paying soooooooooo much money for his education(he has a masters in education) he is still working as an accounting clerk ?
