An employee first called that she wanted to know WHY we were still taking out a garnishment from her check because as she calculated she had already paid what she owed. I tried to explain to her that we cant simply stop taking the money without a court order from who she is indebted to stating that her balance has been paid in full. That explanation wasnt good enough , apparently so She showed up at my desk and demanded a total for what she has paid. SHe went on to give me her sad sad* insert cough* story and how it was affecting her life. I gave her what she asked of me and just couldnt believe that people put themselves in these situations and then complain someone is doing it to them.
She had gotten money from this place and did she not think she didnt have to pay it back ? That it was just money given to her ?
You do the crime , you pay the time. I am not insensitive to her plight but I dont appreciate when people give attitude for THEIR mistakes.
__________
Another employee had a baby. The policy of our company is that you can go on maternity leave and your job is guaranteed but you go with the understanding that it is unpaid leave. You can leave for 3 mos to a year but you will not get a salary, unless you use your time accumalated.
So another 'particular' employee happened to luck out with the incompetence of her department. They did put her unpaid time but conviently forgot to authorize it and so her being a full-time she got a full salary. She KNEW she wasnt due the money but didnt say anything and enjoyed the money.
SO, NOW she came back and it was found out and she has pay back the company through her future checks. She whined that it would be a hardship so a payment plan was implemented(which is rarely done) but it was and she went on to complain that if we could stretch it out to more.
Did she think it was an early/late x-mas gift ? She knew she wasnt entitled and said nothing.
Again, you do the crime you pay the consequences.
