Both Jack E Breaker and Big Joe are leaning back in their respective corners, staring at each other from across the ring as the minute of rest counts down. The last thirty minutes have hit Jack like a sledgehammer to the back of his neck, and he’s realised how lucky he was despite underestimating the Emerald Flame, who has really taken it to him over the last thirty minutes and has given much more to him than anyone expected him to. The embarrassment and the shock of being submitted twice by a man he expected to be nothing more than a toy for him to play with has filled him with anger and adrenaline, as his blue eyes pierce into the soul of Big Joe, who looks straight back with a stare just as intense. He said that he’d go down in a blaze of glory, but he has nothing but victory in his mind and like Jack, he is eager for the match to be restarted. The minute is over, and the referee steps in the centre of the ring then calls for the bell, much to the delight of the crowd who scream out with cheers.
Despite their crippling injuries, The Worlds Superior and the Emerald Flame walk straight towards each other and immediately start slugging wild right’s and lefts at each other’s faces. It’s apparent that Jack’s fists are a lot faster than Joe’s, and connect hard many more times on the face, but Big Joe’s head is iron and his hands are heavy, and after absorbing many blows he finally cracks Jack square in the face with a straight right fist, stunning Jack then firing a powerful left fist that catches Jack square on the side of the jaw, dropping him to one knee. Jack gets right back up and Big Joe moves in and tries to reach around Jack’s back, looking for an upper body takedown but Jack pushes him back, clutches Big Joe’s head with both hands then fires a vicious right knee up into the jaw of Joe, stuffing the takedown attempt but almost loses balance and falls back against the ropes, with Joe pressing him against them. Jack connects with a left knee, followed by another right knee and Big Joe instead swings his right hand around and slams his fist into the side of Jack’s neck, forcing Jack to release Joe’s head and Joe unloads on Jack, battering him with hard rights and lefts, forcing the Intercontinental Champion to cover up. Joe grabs a fistful of Jack’s hair, forces him to bend over then delivers another clubbing blow to the back of the neck of the Worlds Superior, THEN GRABS ANOTHER FISTFUL OF JACK’S HAIR AND VIOLENTLY RIPS HIS HEAD BACK IN AN CIRCULAR MOTION, WHIPLASHING THE WORLDS SUPERIOR AND VIOLENTLY SLAMMING HIM ONTO HE BACK OF HIS HEAD.
The crowd gasp due to the sound of Jack’s skull smashing against the mat, then burst into cheers when Joe grabs a rising Jack by the hair, pulling a groggy Worlds Superior back onto his feet then APPLIES A STANDING HEADSCISSORS TO JACK, LIFTS HIM UP OVER HIS SHOULDER, HOLDING HIM UP IN A GORY SPECIAL, THEN JUMPS UP AND DROPS INTO A SITTING POSITION, DRIVING THE BACK OF JACK’S NECK ON JOE’S SHOULDER AND DRIVING HIS KNEES INTO THE MAT, EXECUTING A GORY NECKBREAKER TO THE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION. Jack E Breaker is in a seriously bad way here as he rolls onto his stomach, clutching the back of his neck with both hands. Fuelled by momentum, Joe quickly gets back onto his feet, runs towards the ropes, bounces off them then runs back, jumps up and drops the point of his knee down onto the back of the neck of the Worlds Superior, causing him to scream out in pain. Jack desperately rises onto his knees, however the entire crowd burst into cheering when JOE LIES NEXT TO JACK, HOOKING HIS ARM WITH HIS LEGS THEN HE LOCKS HIS HANDS ACROSS JACK’S FACE AND PULLS UP, RIPPING JACK’S NECK AND SHOULDER WHILST APPLYING PRESSURE TO THE CROSSFACE.
The crowd are screaming with cheers and the expression on Jack’s face looks to be one of total agony, as his shoulder and neck are tortured by this punishing submission hold. It looks to be over, and if it was still under the Iron Man timer then he would have definitely tapped out to save himself from further harm, but Jack refuses to lose to a bar room brawler, no matter how good he is and uses his feet and his free arm to slowly push himself towards the ropes whilst Joe continues to pull back, screaming out with adrenaline as he pulls back as hard as he can, bending Jack’s back up almost half way. Jack’s neck and shoulder is being torn brutally here, and the health and maybe even the career of the Worlds Superior could be seriously jeopardy but Jack is now just inches away from the ropes, and he uses the last ounce of strength he has to pull himself just a little bit closer, then reaches out and grabs hold of the second rope, much to the delight of the crowd who scream out with cheers.
The referee demands that the hold is released, and Joe rips Jack’s upper body right up and torques his body almost half way, causing Jack to scream out in utter agony until the referee counts to four and the hold is released. Big Joe gets back onto his feet, grabs hold of Jack’s left shoulder and pulls him back to the centre of the ring, and Jack desperately gets onto his feet and rips his injured arm away from Joe, only to be struck in the face with a straight right fist that sends him staggering back into the corner. The momentum is definitely in Big Joe’s favour, and he can feel it running through his veins as he sprints at Jack, jumps up and looks for a Splash Mountain, but Jack drops low and slides underneath Joe’s passing feet, and Joe crashes chest first into the top turnbuckle pad. Joe clutches his chest and takes a few steps back, ONLY TO BE CAUGHT IN A FULL NELSON HOLD, AND JACK SCREAMS OUT AND LIFTS JOE UP IN A WAY SIMILAR TO A BUBBA BOMB, BUT INSTEAD HE DROPS DOWN ONTO HIS BACK WHILST LIFTING UP HIS KNEES, VICIOUSLY DRIVING THEM UP INTO JOE’S BACK AND EXECUTING THE LUNG BLOWER TO THE EMERALD FLAME.
Big Joe bounces off the knees of the Worlds Superior and rolls onto his front right next to him whilst favouring his back. Jack is moving, but slowly as he sits up whilst rubbing his injured shoulder and gently rolling his neck, trying to work some of the pain out. Jack rolls onto his knees, and grabs hold of the ropes, using them as an aide as he gets back onto his feet and leans back into the corner as Joe, with a pained expression gets onto one knee, then onto his feet and throws a looping right fist at Jack’s face, but Jack blocks the arm, fires in two fists to the abdomen of Big Joe, bending him over then smashes him across the face with a vicious right hook, dropping the challenger back onto one knee. Joe quickly gets back up and smashes Jack in his right eye with his fist, knocking Jack back several steps. Joe then runs at Jack, looking for a clothesline but Jack ducks and fires a left knee up into Joe’s abdomen. Jack then follows up by APPLYING A FRONT FACELOCK, THROWING THE ARM OVER THEN LIFTS HIM UP ALMOST VERTICALLY BEFORE TURNING 90 DEGREES AND DROPPING HIM FORWARD OVER THE TOP ROPE, KNOCKING THE WIND OUT OF THE EMERALD FLAME AND HANGING HIM OUT TO DRY. Jack favours his left shoulder briefly but the damage to that and his neck doesn’t seem to be enough to cripple him, as he runs at the opposite ropes, bounces off them then runs back at Big Joe, JUMPS OVER THE TOP ROPE AND SUNSET FLIPS OVER JOE, HOOKING JOE’S LEGS IN THE PROCESS, RIPPING HIM OFF THEM ROPES THEN BRUTALLY SLAMMING JOE ONTO THE THIN PADDED MATS WITH AN ABSOLUTELY DEVASTATING POWERBOMB.
Exhausted, Jack drops down in a slump against the ring apron as the frenzied crowd scream “HOLY SHIT!”, loving what they’ve just seen. Big Joe is motionless, and his spine must be seriously damaged after such a sickening crash, but Jack is in no position to capitalise on what he’s done because he is exhausted, and even if he wasn’t, his neck and shoulder may not be able to do anymore heavy lifting. Both men are down, and it could be a while before they can get back up.
