The lights slowly diminish and as O Fortuna begins to blare over the speakers, a massive display of strobing lights begin to flash with the music triggering a raucus outburst of deafening cheers and thundering applause signaling the beginning of Last Rites.
Then as the music grows louder, the lights become more violent and light up the entire arena with their hues of red, blues, greens and purples. When the music grows softer, the DWF logo begins to fade from the screens of the trons situated at both ends of the giant arena, and start running video highlights of the superstars that will be competing and highlights from their matches leading into the epic pay per view!
The crowds continued to cheer and scream as the music gradually increased, the crescendo reaching a fervered pitch and then the finale exploded into a pyrotechnic light show that blinded the crowds while the music assaulted their senses!
Finally the music ended abruptly and began to play the Dwf theme "Ladies and Gentlemen in the background while Jerry " The King" Lawler and Jim Ross welcomed the fans to the show!
J.R: "What a card, you can bet that Last Rites is perhaps the means to an end given the fallout from Aggression!
King: "You know that's true, just look at Undead Enigma taking on Marco Ramirez and if the sheer animosity that exists between the two men weren't enough, Enigma's added more fuel to the fire by the mysterious disappearance of Veronica Torrence!"
J.R: "I must sadly agree with that, Ms. Torrance hasn't been seen since Enigma swept her away and in the hands of that madman, who knows what fate poor Ms. Torrance has met"
King: "Indeed, and you know what's scarier J.R.?"
J.R: "Scarier than Enigma taking on Ramirez after their last encounter or Damien Death taking on Devilz Child? What could possibly be more scarier?"
King: "There's a full moon out tonight!"
J.R: "That is a very bad omen. Being as it may, we'll find out who the bad omen is for when the Undisputed champion Damien Death does takes on Devilz Child one on one. These two superstars have alot of ground and carnage to catch up on since the triple threat was brought to a halt by the return of the phenom, Kade!"
King: "He brought an otherwise brutal and amusing match to a standstill and a stand-off for his own purposes. Kade better have eyes on the back of his head especially when he takes on the Bad Girl Kalysto after their clash in the ring which was ironically brought to a screeching halt by Kalysto's former partner, Rune Nova!"
J.R: "What a poetic twist that turned out to be, even the Bad Girl didn't know what to make of Rune's turn and aide. It wasn't that long ago that he was in on an attack that took out the Wyld-One. This should be an interesting match to say the least.
King: " Here's another interesting match and all iv'e got to say about it is, if it's a three way dance the fans want to see, here's a trifecta that's sure to satisfy. Tonight we have a triple threat featuring Mr. Smash, Jason and Steve Jones! Needless to say there's no love lost between these men but there may be quite of blood lost by the time the dust settles"
J.R: "While on the subject of no love lost, the current Strikezone Champion, Kane 2000 is set to battle his nemesis, Mr. Van Halen for the title! After their clashes, nothing has been settled but tonight at Last Rites, that could all change!"
King: "For the worse or the better depending on who walks away with that gold strap."
J.R: "Tonight, almost all of the gold is on the line, next up we have the Dwf Tag team champions, the unlikely partners of Kade and Gideon who will defend their gold against two members of the Ministry of Shadows, Undead Enigma and Donovan Bloodwraith!"
King: "Kade and Gideon better have their game faces on and be on the same page to take on those two terrors. In the past, the blood between Kade and Gideon was only bad, now they've found a way to coexist,to actually be in the same room without ripping one another to shreds"
J.R: "For their sakes, they better hope they can to retain the tag team championship. However, Last Rites is not going to be all carnage and destruction, there are many silver linings to this maelstrom, first being the 2008 induction to the Hall Of Fame! Rumour has it that not even the inductee knows that he or she will be inducted!"
King: "Tell me about it, all my sources couldn't come up with a single name! It could be anyone from the roster, every single person beneath the DWF umbrella is a Hall of Famer or future Hall of Famer"
J.R: "Absolutely but maybe we'll find out when Ms Fairchild makes her address or if not, we'll have to wait till the commencement itself begins but in the meantime, the Dwf president has something big to announce"
King: "Don't forget Viper, she's got a few words to say as well as the Commissioner, Jack E. Breaker who will be opening the show! Add in both Chris Wilson who is hosting a cWe qualifying match featuring Soul Reaper versus one of the Dwf's own representatives and Dangerous Dave who will introduce us to his promotion and share his thoughts on it and it's recent merger with the DWF! I believe it's safe to say that we have got ourselves a show with one surprise after another!"
J.R: "Here's a match that is all surprise since we don't even know who is in it! Both names have been omitted so it's a mystery match with mystery stipulations!"
King:"Given it's the Dwf and Last Rites, what we don't know might kill us! Do we have extra security tonight?
J.R: "We do, the Dwf doubled security given the controversial superstars and their matches"
King: "We should triple it, have our own security team since we're closest to the action"
J.R: "Speaking of heightened security, you can bet there'll be alot of it over at Venice Beach what with Viper doing one of her infamous outdoor brawls. Everytime that young woman has one with there's hardly anything left in the wake."
King: "Interesting choice of words JR, wake. Maybe we'll see a wake after this one. I almost feel sorry for the guy she's taking on, he may not know what he's in for."
J.R: "I'll half agree with you there, he's either crazy or crazy like a fox. He might know exactly what he's doing and whom he'll be doing it against which says alot about his character given that all we know about this man is what the man looks like, his name as of yet, remains unknown"
King: "He will be known after this one, i can guarantee that. Here's another match where the challenger will have his or her work cut out for them as will the the Dark Requiem when he steps into a match that is unsanctioned! He's demanded a Mystic Gauntlet which means The Darkling has no idea who he'll be facing or how many superstars he has to go through to emerge victorious! Anything goes and this is just the kind of match the Requiem thrives in, my gut feeling tells me he will prevail."
J.R: "Then let's get on with it and find out, ladies and gentlemen, DWF's Last Rites is LIVE!!!"
