A fade in from black, reveals Good Ol J.R.- Jim Ross, sitting on a large stool, the camera solely focused on him. A pause for a moment, as he waits for his que, and then he very seriously speaks to the camera.
J.R: Ladies and gentlemen, at Straight to the Grave we witnessed the return of a legend. A former Undisputed champion, and Hall of Famer, this man shocked the world after returning from a two year absence, where most had already assumed his passing. Im sitting here now for his first interview back from the grave, so to speak- The King- Gojinn. Gojinn, its nice to have you back, and here with me tonight for this interview.
The camera pulls back and focuses on both men now, revealing Gojinn to J.Rs left. Gojinn seems emotionless, calm, and collected. Wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans, and white sneakers, the former champion extends one hand to Jim, shaking his firmly, before crossing his arms on his chest.
Thank you J.R.
J.R: Well- I guess Ill get right into it. Where did you go?
After my match, I was transported to the hospital. After that was a blur. Im told I was suffering from a temporary amnesia. Most likely it was caused by the trauma of the match. The last two years, Ive been just... wandering and searching for myself.
J.R: And no one had figured out who you were?
We were overseas for the PPV. I didnt even speak the languages over there. I wandered from city to city to city, it was all a massive blur.
J.R: When did you get your memory back?
A few weeks before the two year anniversary. I happened to see a news article about myself. It all clicked after.
J.R: Well now that youre back, youve made it clear you want the Undisputed Title. But since that night, weve seen no sign of you challenging for it. Why?
Vipers busy. Shes got a lot of challengers to please. Sooner or later, either shell find me, or Ill take the belt off someone else.
J.R: You seem quite confident. You had a great match against the Reaper. But you walked out on your second match. You chased down Jack E. Breaker.
We sorted that out.
J.R: My question is: Are you ready for a match of that scale? Its been two years. Ring rust affects even the greatest veterans.
Its like riding a bike. You just gotta keep at it.
J.R: Do you plan on challenging Viper again?
I already said it- if Viper is interested in a title match, she knows she can find me. Right now, Im focused on Last Rites.
J.R: Alright...
J.R pauses a moment, flipping through a set of index cards. Gojinn sighs, seemingly bored now.
J.R: Im sure its of no surprise to you that people are talking about how youve changed.
I guess you could say that. But what ARE they saying? Hmm?
J.R: Youre less vocal. Usually when anyone would utter your name, youd be out and in their face. Lately thats not the case. Youve also been scarce on the cards and television. Unlike you in extreme measures. You used to be the most vocal and cut throat man on the roster, and now youre a shadow, an enigma of sorts.
Scoffs Enigma? Hardly. You see J.R- when you spend years on the mic calling everyone out- you find out who has stones and who doesnt. When I called out a whole roster, two people stepped up. Out of the two of them, the only one who had balls was a woman, and obviously those were metaphorical. The other guy continued his bullshit spewing even AFTER my assumed death. Anyone can talk shit about the dead, J.R.- its just made me realize- some words are useless. Id rather make one gesture and let millions know what I want, than stand around with a mic, wasting time.
J.R: A change indeed.
Im sorry J.R- but I wont be mocked this time. I made it my mission to be a fighting champion. I backed my words. I didnt trash talk to boost my ego. I did it to get under skin. To make people want to fight. Some people just do it because they cant shut their mouths.
Thats why I dont anymore. I made my mark, Ive no need for words. Now if youll excuse me.
J.R looks confused, as Gojinn takes his mic off and steps off set. Turning to the camera he sighs.
J.R: The return of Gojinn- a new man.
