Without warning, the lights in the stadium were slowly extinguished and O Fortuna began to play whilst a montage of Rome's greatest landmarks began to flash across the screen! Cameras panned over the record breaking crowds as they cheered while being treated to images of the Roman coliseum where great emperors once presided proudly over their people and epic battles were waged below by legendary gladiators.
The images changed again, this time to the superstars of the Dwf executing their heart stopping finishers intermingled with clips of gladiators fought one another. As music began to rise in tempo, the lights became more violent and lit up the entire arena with hues of red, blues, greens, golds and purples. When the music grows softer, the DWF logo begins to appear ethereally from the screens of the trons situated at both ends of the giant arena, and starts running video hightlights of the superstars and the feuds that led up to this monsterous pay per view!
The crowds continued to cheer and scream as the music gradually increased, the crescendo reaching a fervered pitch and then the finale exploded into a pyrotechnic light show that blinded the crowds while the music assaulted their senses! When the music came to it's tumultous finish, the lights began to rise and quickly zoomed in the color commentators for the evening, J.R, King, Cole and Grisham along with an Italian announce team!
J.R: "We're here in historic Rome where the pantheons of the Roman world will meet the patheons of the wrestling universe and every single superstar will be featured in one epic battle after another!"
King: "I can't wait for this! Just look at this card! The Dark Requiem whose origins are rumoured to come from right here will be in action!!"
J.R: "On the subject of Gods and Godesses which the Dwf has both, did you know also know that the song that started us off 'O Fortuna' has a tie to the Roman Gods themselves,Fortuna was the Goddess of Fortune and I have to say fortune has been shining all over the great superstars of the Darkside Wresting Federation!"
King: "Just think of how fortunate the fans right here must feel, bearing witness to the world's elite and on such a grand stage!"
Cole: "Let's get right to the action, tonight we have a first ever Legend's Battle Royale and it promises some huge surprises!"
Grisham: "I've been hearing the buzz in the back with the mysterious entrants, it could be anyone and with the "Legends" reference, you know what i'm thinking"
King: "That we do but we'll have to wait to the end of the show to find out who they all are, but here are a few names that we do know will participate and they are some of the biggest names in the industry, Gojinn, Damien Death, Rick Astin and Kane 2000. There are many many more as well set to appear."
J.R: "This card is spectacular, we've got the Gravedigger in action in an open challenge as well as participating in the Battle Royale itself! Gideon will be featured in what may or may not be his last match, The Dark Saviour will be in a Retirement Match and it's against none other than Viper who has two other huge matches booked for tonight. One in a tag bout with her partner Damien as they take on The New Prophecy in a Steel Cage match and then another against The Alpha Dog who will also face the mysterious Shade!"
King: "Wait, Viper has three matches, she could lose and be forced to retire! I don't even want to think about it!"
J.R: "No one does but it could happen so we'll have to see what the Fates have in mind for the venomous vixen"
Cole: "What a night so far and it's not even half over! Check this out, we've also got the powerhouse veteran Kade in action against newcomer Caleb and then in a huge battle against Damien and it's for the Intercontinental strap! We've also got MadDog Strangla is set to go against a who's who as well, he'll be facing Mr. Smash and then The elusive and dangerous Dark Requiem!"
King: "Then we'll hear from Eric Bitchoff who has been quiet as of late, who knows what he's been up to. The GM of the Year announcement will be read tonight!"
J.R: "The rivalry between Mr. Mckain and Mr. Bitchoff has been off the chart, these two men may actually hate each other after competing as they have to have the winning show!"
King: "Don't forget the Gold Rush match featuring Kane 2000, The Wildcard and Mr. Van Halen in a Triple Cage match! There's one that's sure to satisfy!"
Cole: "What are we waiting for, LAST RITES IS LIVE!!!"
