The White King begins to laugh to himself, drawing the attention of Candice and Blade. As they look at the Reaver with a little bewilderment, he raises the microphone up, continuing to laugh and getting the attention of everyone else in the arena before he speaks.
"It didn't take long after I became champion for you to appear from under whatever rock you were under or place you were hiding in. I've known that you've had a passion for the past Dark Requiem, a passion for things of grandeur, older times and mothballs. When I signed with the DWF, I signed solely to wrestle and compete for their belts, not the belts of places I've never heard of. And here you are, already lifting the two titles that don't mean anything to this company anymore."
Kveldulf then points to himself with a finger.
"Titles that don't mean a thing to THIS champion. All it confirms to me is that you are afraid to embrace the future; that you would rather reminisce about that past than embrace change. Well you better get used to it and adapt, whether you like it or not, change is coming. And if you can't handle that, then I recommend you crawl back to where you can from, dragging that worthless gold with you."
Kveldulf then motions to the new championship.
"This is where we are heading. A future focusing on the DWF, the talent represented here and the fans, who watch our shows, live or taped."
The Reaver motions with an outstretched hand to those in attendance; spinning is a slow circle as the crowd cheers. As the White King finishes a circuit, Candice holds out the belt to him. As he takes it from her, the DWF president takes a step back, clapping her hands along with Blade and the fans. Kveldulf looks down at the championship for a moment, just now getting the chance to see the intricate hand carving on the gold and his name etched into it. Putting the title around his waist, the Reaver fastens the black leather belt so he doesn't have to hold on to it.
"That brings me to the next part of this ceremony. Things have been said tonight, things have transpired amongst the roster members, things that need to be addressed. First I'll start with the topic I'll discuss the shortest - the actions of the Liston Edge Society country bumpkins. I know about what happened backstage during my match against the Ripper. You think you have the upper hand at the moment, but you don't know how wrong you are.
Now on to the ones who stirred up the most discussion backstage, dear Seth and Crymzon. I'll admit that some of what you said rings true. Yes, there were two other titles attached to this, two that I would never support as I mentioned earlier. As you can see, Dark Requiem has obliged us by taking them into his care to further remove them from this organization. And if he hadn't then I certainly would have.
Yes, there is a division amongst the talent. As with any federation you have your low-card, mid-card and high-card talent. One starts at the bottom and must work to the top. And it is your work that gets you there, your work that gets you noticed. In the past, the chances have been unjustly given, but now that the reins have changed hands there will be a due process. Nothing will be taken for granted; nothing will just be handed out. Tonight is proof of that. For those fans who have been keeping track, before tonight my DWF match record was three losses and two no contests. Never once did I ask for anything. Through hard work and competition I have prevailed through three grueling matches to become the first DWF Universal Undisputed World Champion.
That brings me to the last part of my speech. Tonight there has been talk of corporate stooges who kiss ass to get higher up in the company. I can tell you that I will not be one of those. I will work to provide for my family, work to entertain the fans and work to retain this belt. But that is where Crymzon and Seth lost their vision and failed to see the larger picture. Failed to see who really has the backing of this administration. I will not be a corporate puppet, but I am the corporate champion. I support the decisions that have been made and the direction of where Candice plans to take this company. And together a new future for the DWF will be paved."
Kveldulf steps next to Candice who raises his hand up in victory as they look up to see if the Dark Requiem has any response or anyone else decides to come to say their piece.
