The distraction from Viper caused a brief lapse in focus on Reaver's part. And Seth knew he had to capitalize in order to get things in his favor. Spinning the champion around, Seth delivered a knife edge chop to the champion. Another, followed by another, and another knocked Reaver onto the apron. Reaching between the ropes, Seth grabbed the White King by the neck and pulled him to his feet. Grabbing his head, he slowly stepped back, dragging Reaver onto the ropes.
"Here it comes Hangman's DDT!" JR yelled. Pushing off the ropes, Reaver planted his feet on the mat and broke loose. Taking a step back, Reaver delivered a swift kick to the gut causing Seth to bend over. Grabbing him by the trunks, Reaver wasted no time, sending Seth shoulder first into the ring post. Stumbling out, Reaver went for a quick roll up as the ref began counting.
A shoulder thrown up by Seth broke the count as he rolled away. Getting up quickly, Seth's knee had stopped bothering him as adrenaline had kicked in. That was merely momentary as Reaver targeted the knee again delivering a boot to it. A second kick dropped the challenger to his knees. Grabbing Seth's head Reaver quickly landed a DDT and again went for a cover.
This time Seth's arm came up right before the ref lowered his hand for three. Getting to his feet, Reaver began pulling Seth up as well as he plotted his next course of attack. Pushing Seth back into a corner, Reaver again worked on the knee, delivering two straight kicks before placing the limb over the rope. Grabbing the ankle, Reaver pulled, putting the joint under a large amount of stress. Seth yelled in pain as he just happened to look over and see the nunchucks. Flaring around he tried reaching as far as he could to grab the nunchucks. Finally Seth lunged one last time and grabbed them. However, when he did it he lost his balance and wrenched his knee even further.
Looking down, Reaver had no chance at stopping the end of the nunchuck smacking him clean in the face. Breaking free, Seth used his leg to trip Reaver so he quickly scattering away. Using the ropes to get back to his feet, Seth knew it was now or never as he watched a kneeling Reaver.
Smacking his leg a few times he began running at Reaver to make an attempt at the "Going Going Gone" punt. Getting half way there, Seth dropped down and fell to his knees as he smacked the canvas in frustration.
"Seth's leg is in a bad way. And this is early in the match here! And Reaver is circling in on his challenger." JR called.
And the champion was doing just that as he slowly stepped towards Seth. Holding his jaw from the nunchuck strike Reaver slowly started to bend down to grab Seth. Without warning Seth hopped onto his feet, twisting as he leapt into the air. Hooking Reaver's head he drilled him face first with the "DOA".
"DOA! DOA! DOA! OUT OF NO WHERE!" JR yelled.
"Oh my god!" King yelled. Quickly scooting over, Seth hooked Reaver's legs as the ref counted.
"And the winner of the first fall Seth!" The announcer said over the PA system. Mean while Seth was quickly rolling away as he gripped his knee. Flexing it repeatedly he still lay on his back as he was trying to asses the damage. Reaver had rolled to his belly and slowly was getting his bearings as he took note of the ref saying he'd counted three. The challenger was the worse off of the two but he was up one fall to nothing.
