An Introduction

by

Hello everyone. Karen has kindly let me join your class and although I havn't been able to attend I have followed the reading schedule.
This is my first experience with Virginia and though I see the similarities, mentioned in an earlier response, to Joyce I see more similarities to a contemporary author, Annie Dillard. The language is so visually rich that I find myself musing to the images placed in my head. I see into all of the characters heads, and enjoy the view, except for Jacob. He seems very dense to me and in light of his choice of the book of Byron poetry and his predilection to be bored by his elders and his belief that he and his friends alone share insight to the life of the Greeks - well I ramble. I hope Jacob grows up tonite as I finish the book. Unfortunately the book is at home and I am not. Sorry to be so vague.
