Woolf had a very sharp wit, and many diary entries, essays, and letters demonstrate this. (And I'd argue that there is humor even in some of the other novels we've read.) I'm glad you and Greg are enjoying Orlando. Everyone seems to think it was just right to read at this time in the semester. Check out the new Orlando page I put on the website, commenting on textual passages relating to only one of the several themes we discussed in class last week--writing, writing biography, and writing fiction. For those who saw the earlier handout in class last week, you might want to check out the web page, because I've added a lot more from my notes.
