Steve: A friend from BV sent me photos of a smoky hillside near her home, on the outskirts of town, towards Cottonwood pass area. What was up? HHinPa

Yeah, for about 2-3 hours this afternoon, it was quite smoky in BV. (I wasn't too far from the fire area myself!)

Steve; Thanks for the reply, my friend also e-mailed that it was a controlled planned burn to remove forest debris, unfortunately she did not include that little tid bit of info originally. Glad all is safe in the BV area. Congratulations on your elk photos recently, tricky, using the snowdrift to hide your car. That is the beginning of your wildlife photography, next step get closer using natural terrain and cover, as you did with the snowdrift, or wait in a ground blind made of natural cover, and get their photo, unaware of your presence. It is fun and exciting to be close to wildlfe, and capture them in your photos. Good luck and have fun. Be careful with mountain lions, bears, especially sows with cubs, and the bull elk during the rut. Enjoy the spring weather. HH in Pa
