Well ok that's what I thought. Too bad. And Nancy thanks for that info. It would indeed be interesting if you tried a measurement. There's a wonderfull local orchid that grows along road cuts, Elleanthus aurantiacus that produces a profusion of blooms. If it were nectar producing it would be THE place (apart from my feeders) to see hummers I'm sure.
