Response to Rooting cuttings in water?

Thanks for the suggestions and sharing your own experiences rooting in water. I appreciate it!

I think that I am going to experiment and try something that I had heard from someone local ...

She said that many plants she starts in water and when roots first start appearing, she then plants them in potting mix. She grows them in a pot until they are well rooted and then plants them in her garden bed.

The biggest problem I have is the heat that quickly dries them out when planting directly in potting mix before rooting had taken place. If I try growing them under a covering to retain moisture, they often just rot.
