Just a note about migration: Yesterday, a friend passed over to pick up some plants I had started for him. He birded Cameron Parish on the southwestern Louisiana coast last weekend and he commented that Ruby-throateds were thick in the marshes, where they gleaned every insect they could find and tested minute flowers for just a drop of nectar. If y'all recall, I had noted a similar scenario from a mid-May trip to the Cameron area back in 2009. The birds he noted were incoming migrants, probably due to arrive on northern breeding grounds in early June.
