When I get something in my head there's no stopping me. I have roughly 55 pots on my deck filled with hummer and butterfly plants beside the garden beds. I thought a irrigation system was the answer to watering full sun plants everyday. So I bought most of the parts during the week, (another trip to Lowes was needed today) and convinced my husband to help me install it today. We ran 1/2 inch poly tubing around the outer perimeter of the deck (80 feet) and used 1/4 inch vinyl tubing (125 feet) attached to sprinkler heads that are adjustable from drip to sprinklers. 35 pots now are watered at one time. It took us about 6 hours to attache tubing to couplers and sprinker heads, and 2 blisters and sun exhaustion later we are finished. I am so thrilled!! I still have to water about 20 pots the old fashioned way, but its a huge help. Here are some pictures to give you an idea what the deck looks like. He did such a good job, you can bearly see the tubing. I had to hold plants aside to get the following picture.
Hubby taking a well deserved rest!! I'm was in the hot tub relieving tired muscles...
