With the drought, I don't have as many hummers as I've had in past years. And I'm fighting a battle of the hummers vs. the bees on my feeders. As a result, I only have 6 feeders up this year whereas I generally have around 30 to 40 feeders up. It's a battle trying to keep the bees off the hummers, . . .and yes, I've tried all the "tricks" and so far none has worked.
In addition, I'm having frequent visitors to my yard, day and night. The other night Terry got up when a motion light went off on the garage only to see a little racoon eating the berries that had fallen off my queen palm. Yesterday, my yard guy killed a coral snake in the yard, and we have been seeing lots of other non-poisonous snakes which I just say "Go after the bad guys in my yard!"
Anyway, if you are in Rockport, be sure to stop by and say hi!
