Howdy!
My shade garden is along the back of the house and I am afraid that they will get trampled. Actually the owner of the company stated that they will be stepping on the plants. He is being honest as how could one avoid it.
Along the back I have nice sized ferns, bleeding hearts, Sweet woodruff, hostas and a few other things I am sure I forgot at the moment.
In the corner of the house where it gets some sun I have Iris's, Hibiscus, coneflowers, blackeye suzies, and a few other things.
Would you guys temporarily move the plants? Not sure that some of these would transplant too well. Work is being done in the next few weeks, bleeding hearts are about 2 inches tall, iris are just below the surface, ferns have their base nice and tight, etc. I guess I could buy a bunch of 5 gallon pails and cover the plants. Might cost a bit though.
I would imagine that if any of these get stepped on it will be it for the season, if not for good. Not really too concerned about the sweet woodruff.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
