Bob- Thanks for that site - it really helps to hear it- my latin is nonexistent...
Jilly - Loved hearing the sounds of the rubythroat - it helps to keep them near when they are so far away from me! Thank goodness for this forum - its keeping me relatively sane while waiting for the real thing to show up!

hmm. I asked for a-ga-STAHK-y instead of a-ga-STACK-y at the new garden center and got a what? what? At least I didn't say a-ga-STASH.

Lisa,
I have learned that when I go to a new garden center and am not familiar where certain plants are to ask if they have any Hyssop. They seem to know Hyssop better than Agastache.

Thanks so much Bob. Many of the plants I had never heard of until I joined the forum. Lisa, I have been wondering which way to pronounce Agastache too!

Penny, neither Agastache nor Hyssop would be understood here. These aren't plants we see very much. Additionally, our nurseries seem to employ clerks who really don't know much, if anything, about plants. So, it pays to educate yourself and to know what will be useful to you.
