I've searched all the Walmarts in my area and not one carries them. Could one of you that has them check and see if there's a brand name, model, or some sort of identifying mark on them so I can search on the web for one, please. Anyone have an idea about where else they may be available?
Hi Annie, I got the bar code from Russ. My Walmart was out of them, so I went to the manager and he went over to the computer and put the code in and turned around and said to me: "They will be in in 4 days" Man, I was impressed....Sure enough I went back in 4 or 5 days and there they were....I bought 25 of them....I removed the bar code sticker on the ones I put out, but have several pack away with the sticker still on them....I'll dig them out after we have breakfast and post it here for you.... ~~ Karen
P.S. Or I could send you one if you are unsucessful in obtaining them...

Annie, they had a bunch of them at my walmart. If you want I will buy a few and send them to you. Let me know by email and we will work it out if you are interested. I can't use them here they are too small would be refilling them every 15 min.

If one of you could post the number from the bar code, I'll have them order them for me.
annie, I bought 8, intending to share 4 of them, and haven't found a good home for the others. I'll gladly send you 1-4 of them if you like. shoot me an email.
the # on the bar code is 1654402069. there is a 0 outside the bar code to the left and a 5 outside the bar code on the right. the whole # may begin with 0 and end with 5, I don't know.
I'll have to admit, I didn't think this looked like much of a feeder when I bought them, but I hung one and got a visitor on it the first hour.
Hi Annie, Here is the bar code for the feeder: 16544 02069 Model Number H 137 B
Mini Hummingbird Feeder..... Hope you are sucessful in acquiring those cute little feeders.... I really like mine, I mean the hummers really like'em....
P.S. Looks like we were all composing our threads about the same time....and we all have the same answer....Were we copying each others answers...

Thank you all for your help. I'll be calling the local Walmart this afternoon. Wish me luck.
Annie,
I hope you have better luck than I had. My store said they were discontinued but i think they just didn't want to be bothered ordering them. Our store has also been out of the 97 cent ant moats too since the beginning of the season. They are a little smaller than the ones I made myself but they still work just fine if you have ants. You just have to refill them more often espeically if the chicadees and goldfinches are drinking the water. I managed to get two before they were all gone.

I tried calling the local Walmart, and the customer service folks said they couldn't tell if they carried it or not by the SKU #. They told me to call the lawn and garden department, which I did and waited for 30 minutes. So, I went to the Walmart.com site and found how to register a complaint about a store and did so. Let's just hope that a complaint to "corporate" will do some good.
My worst nightmare would be for Walmart to take over in every community. If that happened, we'd only be able to get what they want us to have. Everyone would be dressed the same. And then, they'd charge exactly what they want--and it wouldn't be cheap.
Well Annie, obviously some staff just do not know what customer service means at this megagiant.
I just got off the phone with my Walmart for the third time. The first call, I made. The results, when I finally got to the Garden Center:
I ask "is this where the bird food is sold" to which I get "no. Oh wait a minute. Wild bird food. Yes."
I then tell him I am looking for a mini hummingbird feeder and start to give him the number. As I finish he says "I guess I better write this down, if I can find something to write with. Okay give me that number again."
I start again, get three numbers in only to hear "Oh come on pen ... okay try again."
Needless to say, not a very promising start. As he promised to call back I reminded him I do want to order them if they do not have them in.
About 10 minutes later he calls back to say "we don't have them." I ask if they can order them like stores are doing in CA, TN, MO, NY, etc. "I don't know if we can do that or not." Asked why this store could not he simply says "I don't know, at which point I hang up ready to call 1-877-WALMART.
Knowing that the management at our local Walmart does have a serious problem with customer service, I decide to try talking to the manager rather than calling corporate. At this point I am told the computer shows 22 on hand, no sales last week (any wonder with massive flooding in the region?) but 25 sold the week before. When she was told I want to order at least 25 she says, I will call back shortly after I attempt to place a managers order directly to the store.
Hello everyone...I bought two of those 97 cent feeders and all they did was LEAK bigtime
I do not know what I did wrong with mine...and somewhere I still have both of them!! If I ever find them again, maybe I'll try rehanging them and maybe I'll just send them to the first person who responds to this post!
Try fillng it with nectar up to the vary top....I think this creates less of a vacuum which doesn't allow the nectar to leak out.... This is not a scientific explanation but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night....

Verna--- I believe you need to fill it completely to the top and then it may leak a little a first and then quit. One thing about this feeder if you have much activity from hummers you will have to refill it soon anyway. I refilled mine today and it leaked at first and the hummers have been using it and its down about 1/3rd now but it is not leaking now.
If you fill it with cold nectar from the refridgerator it will continue to drip quickly until it reaches outside air temp. What I have been doing is pouring nectar in a large shot glass and nuking it for a few seconds until it is tepid. Then I pour into the Walmart .97. Try it and see if you notice a difference.
Well, Walmart in their wonderful logic has decided that, since there is so much demand for these things they must not be that popular so they have deleted them from their inventory meaning they are no longer available!
Alan, Yeah, I think I did mean to say that..Actually I had no idea what I was talking about..but didn't it sound good .... ....Say, did you hear about our fire out by Vasquez Rocks on Saturday? Thought i'd post a few pictures of my hummingbirds and the fire in the background....It was quite something. We had to evacuate...House ok....No damage....

Karen, sorry to hear about the fires in your area. Evacuation must have been scary. Can't imagine what I'd grab if I ever had to. Perhaps that's something I really ought to think about. One never knows when an emergency will strike.

Isn't this just typical. Really brings back to mind just why we all should support our small local businesses. They, at least, listen.
These little feeders sat on the shelves in our local store for 2 seasons without many being sold that is why I was told at our store that they were discontinuted. This year after it was posted here on the forum about how much the hummers liked them we all made a mad dash to grab them up. So it just could be that overall the feeders just weren't selling or sales were very slow around the country or that they were being returned because they dripped. For those who still have them in your stores and you can afford to buy them up I would certainly do it and you could offer them to the members here or your neighbors etc for what you paid for them plus any postage you may incur. I like them b/c you can have one out and replacements in the fridge ready to go. I leave mine upside down in a cup in the refrigerator until they are needed. Those feeders along with the test tubs feeders get the most use in my yard this year and I am not throwing hardly any nectar out either.

Same thing must be going on at my walmart for when I bought mine early in the season they only had two so I just bought one not wanting to be greedy and leave one for someone else [ stupid thinking]and havent seen them have any in since then.
I am in my Walmart at least 6 days a week and in the bird feeding area at least once on each of these trips and the first time I saw them was when I went and asked for them!

Annie, Thanks for thinking of me....We live in a 5th wheel while building our house. I have about 5 years worth of paper pictures and also lots of digital CD disks in plastic containers, so I pulled them out on the deck and hubby put them in the truck just as the firemen were coming down the driveway to tell us we had to evacuate....
Thanks for thinking of me .... We were pretty scared seeing the fire that close. I have several plastic containers of pictures and lots of digital pictures that we hauled out of the trailer and put in the truck about the same time the firemen came down the road into our lot and politely said, "Mam, please evacuate immediately" No problem ... I am oudda here..... Finally had a chance to get some photos together and hopefully I can put a couple of short slide shows up...
Those fires out there scare me to death. Every year I worry about all of our Calif. members and this year it is extending to all of the west coast. I have been through hurricanes and typhoons and earthquakes and small tornaodos but I have never had to go through the awful experience of fires like y'all have. I haven't had a chance to watch the weather channel for the past couple of days. I sure hope that everyone is ok. My thoughts are with you all.

Hi all! I'm a newbie here, so am just reading these posts.
I was looking all over for small feeders to spread around the yard since hummers seem to be so territorial. I've had feeders with several ports and only one hummer feeds at a time and the solution mildews before it's ever used up. I've been using the Perkey Pet 4 oz. feeders-they were about 2.50 when I got them some years ago and now I see they're up to about $5 ea. They work great, easy to clean but pricey if you want a bunch of them. In searching the internet, I found someone selling the small ones on ebay. You have to bid on them and of course, shipping about doubles the price but they are exactly the same ones you're talking about from Wal-mart. But it sounds like you might not be able to get them from Wal-Mart anymore. This person must have bought them all out because she seems to have plenty to put up for auction. She auctions them in sets of 4 and starts the bidding at about $6. I was glad to be able to get some, even at a higher price than WM. I've seen at least 8 hummers at our back porch today. I've never seen more than a couple at a time here. I'm sure some of them are young 'uns but hope they'll come back next year.
Another inexpensive solution to make your own feeders. You can buy the feeder tubes in corks and just put them in a bottle with a 1" opening from a craft supply place.
Hi Debbie
We are glad to have you join our 'little' group. Yes we figured that the person selling them on EBAY bought out WM whole inventory and has them stockpiled in a POD somewhere. I love mine and so do the hummers so much so thazt they use the feeders more than the flowers this year.
I am not complaining as I am not wasting near as much nectar as I used to because I change and refill them every other day in hot weather.

Just letting everyone know that your info came up when I inquired on Google where I could buy the same small feeders. I have ar least 20 (half are large) already but I want to staff my newly married son and daugters' houses as well. My theory is that the side mount of these little feeders keeps rain water out as they seem much more palatable to the hummers.
I also have checked at least 4 different wal marts...Grrrr.
Hi there Mike in NJ and welcome. Yes we all went nuts or should I say the hummers went nuts over these cheap little feeders the last two years. I think that they have been deleted from their inventroy. They were supposed to be deleted last year. I and a few other people wrote to WM and asked them to please continue to supply the stores with these feeders as our forum member really wanted them. I don't know if that helped or not but we did get them last year.
Did you check ebay? At one time there were a couple of people selling them as sets of 3 I believe
