I think my adult males are gone for the year

I haven't seen a single one in the last 3 days. I've had at least two in the yard all summer. I'm sad to see them go, but I still have plenty of immature(literally.. lol) hummingbirds and a couple females.

Speaking of the immature hummingbirds... yesterday I saw one knock another out of the air and then pin it to the ground. I have a very blurry photo of this and you can't really tell what's happening. I've seen them knock each other out of the air before, but I don't recall ever seeing one sit on another. Has anyone else? They both flew away and appear to be unharmed by the incident.

I'm located in Illinois, so hummingbirds should be on a pretty similar schedule.
