Anyone from South Carolina???

Hello,

Due to my husbands recent layoff we are relocated to South Carolina from Michigan. So, of course, the first thing I did was look up what varieties of Hummers are in SC.
Is it true that you leave your feeders up all year round??

Hi, and welcome! Although I'm in North Carolina, not South, I'm not too far away from what is called the Upstate of SC. We have much colder weather than toward the coast, and don't tend to leave feeders out all year. However, many of us do just in case a hummy might be off-track and stray into the area. I'm not sure if we have anyone on this list who lives a lot further east in the state.

Let us know where you will be living and we can help you much more effectively.

Nice to have you with us!

hi Doreen,
I am sorry to hear about your husband's lay off but you know what they say...When one door closes a window opens so this may be a blessing in disguise (it would be a big blessing for me to move back south). As Linda said quite a few people do leave feeders up year round down there.

Doreen sorry about the circumstances that brought you south but happy to have you with us. Welcome to the group. Not much chance of seeing hummingbirds on the east coast until the spring time but you can be reading up on what the hummingbirds use in your area. We are also always ready to share plants or seeds with newcomers.
