Been gone for a while with some sickness and also because of that I missed getting seeds from my plants. But I do have a couple of cuttings to show progress on that Im just a little proud of since this is my first try at overwintering inside. These guys outgrew the 7inch dome I had been growing them in but they just would not die in spite of me. Photobucket keep changing and making it more difficult to upload.

And this is what Im most proud of the brand new sprout that has risen and looks quite healthy, lets hope they make thru the winter. I also have decided to wick these and see if that works.

Good for you Steve! I took a few more cuttings of DV a couple of weeks ago and they started wilting so I immediately covered them with plastic bags. They have perked up and are hanging in there. I guess I will have to tent all future cuttings at least for a while.

I have lost some rare cuttings that I brought into the house but failed to tent. The temperatures are warm enough for rooting, but even in a house with baseboard hotwater heat the air gets rather dry. Among them was the coolest greggii Wild Thing/microphylla hybrid that have ever appeared in the garden, a plant with giant flowers. The parent plant is still out there at Palmyra, so maybe in spring the situation will be recoverable. I really wanted to add a half dozen to the nectar hedge first thing in spring.

I dont have any other plants that I can take cuttings from since most of my plants were in the ground, but my vervain and shrimp plant potted in the garage still have green leaves.

Whenever I first removed the shumannii from rooting mix to the soil they are in now , they wilted pretty severely for 2 or 3 days before they finally settled in and started coming back and at that point is when I was most concerned if they would live or not.
