Thanks for the heads up Priya! I have been waiting for them to finish updating. I am definitely going to have to order a Helia cuprea. The flowers remind me a lot of our crossvine.

For any one who is new or hasn't checked out Bustani Plant Farm here is the link http://www.bustaniplantfarm.com

Penny,

Darn Tooting!...[linked image]
Hmmmmm...Why, was I supposed to take a deli #?
I'm sure you have nothing to worry about...now if I ordered 100-200 each...then, well...
I was just sharing my joy of my order...[linked image]
Besides, an order has to be at least $24 before shipping & handling. My original order was $32...just $8 over the minimum. Now, with the additional plants I ordered today, my order only totaled $60 before S&H...so do you really think it's that big?

So what else will you be ordering besides the Bahama Firebush ($7)?

I have my list ready to go.Most of my overwintering efforts have been a disaster, so I have to reorder several plants.

1) Leonotis leonurus
2) Hamelia cuprea
3) Dwarf red, purple and variegated false vervain
4) Russelia equisetiformis
5) Justicia fulvicoma and Thelma's pink
6) Salvia darcyi
7) Turk's cap
8) Dicliptera

I will not be repeating Anisacanthus wrightii and Erythrina bidwilli (coral bean). The coral bean's blooms are lovely, but it has an untidy, sprawling habit that I don't have space for.

This covers most of what I wanted this year. I have my eye on Cuphea salvadorensis from Kartuz, but that's about it.

I'm as bad as Susan Louise. I placed our order on Monday morning. It is really a nice feeling when you know the quality of plants that you will be receiving.

Hello jp,

Well, I don't know why you think that since we placed an order now it's "bad"...or "wrong".
We've got nothing to be ashamed of...Good Grief!
As far as I know there are no rules as to when to place orders other than the nurseries that say otherwise. All the ones I've ordered from already thanked me for placing my order in early...including Bustani! [linked image]

Susan Louise,

I hope you know I was kidding you along about your order to Bustani. If you thought I was serious please accept my apologies....I really was kiddling.

Anyway I haven't had enough time to stay online and go through all their plants but Priya and Susanb Louise both have very impressive lists.

I actually have a coral bean in the ground in a super protected area but this year it may not have enough protection no matter where it is planted. I will have to wait and see what comes of it this spring

this is what I have earmarked so far but it could be ammended as I finish browsing the whole site. So until I have enough time to go through all of Steve's online catalog I will have to wait to place my order.....back to browsing

Hamelia cuprea (Bahama Firebush) #251
Penstemon murrayanus (Red Cup-Leaf Penstemon) #199
Stachytarpheta 'Red Compacta' (Dwarf Red False Vervain) #134
Stachytarpheta jamaicensis (Deep Blue False Vervain) #258

By "bad" I meant that I was as excited as you were with the catalog and rushed to get my order in. There was no other meaning intended. That is a common expression where I live and I certainly did not mean to offend you.
