Last decent pre-spring day

Today will be the last of the 'warmer' days for western NY for a while...53 and raining but that beats below freezing and snow so I am taking advantage of it and shoved a few of my large plants that can handle the cool rain(S. guaranitica, Rosemary, S. Black and Rouge, and Cuphea ignea David Verity) outside for a good soaking. Maybe this will hold them until the next warm up LOL!

The 10 day forecast for here indicates below average temperatures but no outragious cold - chances of that usually end here by mid February. From here on out it will only be cold, windy and damp for about 2.5 more months and then May will finally arrive.

It actually hit 64 degrees today here in NJ. Wonderful day, loved it! We are actually heading to Mexico's Pacific coast soon for a couple of weeks. A last minute trip to my sisters new house. First trip there, the weather is 85 and sunny. No rain expected. I will be taking a birding tour with a canadian transplant (Mike Malone) and looking for some different hummer species. He has another birding company at Pelee in Canada. Wish me luck!!

Pam,

LUCKY YOU! That is great! Enjoy the trip and the visit with your sister

This morning we are having high winds sleet snow and ice. I have been out three time to retreive flying feeders. I had to bungee one feeder to the shepherd's hook that I had to wire to the fence that actually got pulled right out of the ground. Yes the last two days were definitely the calm before the storm.
