the sun is even shining which makes it even better. UI actually went out and did a little bit of winter clean-up but not too much since I do want to waiit and see what is going to come back this year. I did do the same thing as Suchie (I think it was Suchie) and broke a small piece off of one of my Salvvia greggiis to see if it is still gree and it is. It is in a protected area so even if we get lots of snow or rain it shouldn't be affacted.

It's around 60 here too
Well, you had inspired me to go out and check for survivors...LOL
I'm so excited! I did like you did and broke off a small piece of each Wild Thing', 'Rosita', 'Black Cherry'...and they are all green...WooHoo!!!!
I'm gobsmacked and tickled pink since we're in zone 5...
'Rosita' is for up to zone 5 hardy...but the other 2 were for zone 6. what a thrill...I don't have to replace them!
I also checked all of our honeysuckles are sprouting too
Thanks for starting this thread

Here too Penny and Susan
It is 64 here now and as a high for the day. In this current warm streak I have been eyeballing my plants trying to will some greening but for the life of me I cant see any and if I did Im sure the cold snap we are in for will ruin it. Do we really think this weather can hold up without a cold snap. Might as well ask for spiders to quit weaving a web,, haha!
Lucky you, we are stuck in the 45's and no sun whatsoever. It has felt this way for 2 weeks. I just stay in my basement and sow, sow ,sow. I don't know where I'll put all these plants, but its like an addiction.(one of many, the least offense
Yes the greggii is still green so I forced myself to leaf it be. I also checked on a couple of butterfly bushes that are not in the best location and they are putting out new leaves along with the ones that stayed green over the winter. As bad as this winter was I have to say I am very surprised to have anything survive even in a protected area. But as Steve cautioned, winter isn't through with us here in the northeast yet. It was still nice to be able to get out there and do some minor cleanup though.

Hey Penny - Thanks for the heads up! I needed an outdoor fix so I just checked my Cherry Chief - and YAY it also is still greeen! Maybe just maybe things will do better this year for me than last - hope the snow covering helped!
Penny I am happy to see that you and others are have some nice weather. We have had nice rain since yesterday and our weather is supposed to hold and not get colder. I will cool off just a little bit but the rain and nice weather will cause the plants to continue grow. As Dell suggested in an earlier post spring will be burstin' out all over.

Well I hope that everyone's weather starts to normalize now. Our folks that have been in drought conditions get the much needed rain and the ones in the frozen tundra this winter have a steady warm-up. I think we are all over due.

We got some much needed rain. Not enough to fill the lakes but better than nothing. My internet went out Saturday night and finally came on this morning. Have to go to Homedepot and get some potting soil and other goodies to plant the seeds Penny and Andrew were so gracious and loving to send. You just dont know how much this old lady appriciates this. My son is going to make me a trellis for my climbers. I will try to talk him into doing a raised bed also. Keep you fingers crossed. Have a great day all
How good for you Carol. I have several climber seed I am going to plant around the middle of April. I hope I can find places for them. Sure wish I could get someone to build me some trellises.

I am with you I need one very big sturdy trellis for my coral honeysuckle. The one it is on now is on its last leg.Since my DH isn't much on building stuff I will have to buy one or build it myself.
