Bottlebrush seeds

This is what I have read 'Each flower head produces a profusion of triple-celled seed capsules around a stem, which remain on the plant with the seeds enclosed until stimulated to open when the plant dies or fire causes the release of the seeds. (A few species release the seeds annually.)'
My question is , 'how does one get the seed out without letting the tree die or start a fir...?'
Yes, you guessed it, I found some seeds![linked image]

I have a young tree about 5ft tall, but I can't pass up the chance for seeds...!
I just thought 'someone must use them!
Thanks, anyway!

I found a site that gives info on collecting these seeds and that I should put the unopened capsule in a paper bag, where they will release the fine seed. So, I got an envelope and went to put the capsules into and they had all released the seeds already on the counter!
So, we're 'off to the races'!
