I just returned from my blitz trip to Fort Morgan, Alabama (5 hours away) for the bird banding.
I took 160 pictures which I won't bore you with, but I will post some of the highlights. That is me releasing the bird. Can you tell how much fun I was having?????

I can tell you had a blast! The weird thing is I took a picture of a bird in my yard 2 hours ago and Nancy identified it as a Kentucky warbler. Another bird in your pictures I think is a worm-eating warbler. I just saw my first one at Nancy's this week.
Gayla - There is no question you were having a wonderful time! How lucky you were to see all those different birds. I loved the pictures and tried to see how many I could guess - and am happy I got the worm eating warbler and the painting bunting - so colorful. I also think I saw a blue grosbeak, red crossbill, parubla warbler and a baltimore oriole??? I could be so off the mark but its fun to try - nothing ventured nothing learned. So if you could tell what they are it would be great...Thanks anyway for sharing your experience!
They banded warbers, (kentucky, worm eating, prothonotary, hooded, and black and white), tanagers (scarlet and summer), buntings (painted, and indigo), a jillion red-eyed vireos, paurlas, oven bird, blue growbeek, acadian flycatcher, wood thrush and orchard oriole to name a few.
