How to make an ant moat

SInce the season is just getting underway and I know someone will ask how to get rid of the ants on the feeders, I thought I would bring back this post by Bob from a couple of years ago on how to make your own ant moat. It really does the trick. I have made a half dozen and anytime I get a new lid I make a new one just in case one breaks or cracks. Also the smaller birds like chicadees and goldfinches like to drink the water out of them.

Here is the link to the orginal posthttp://www.network54.com/Forum/439743/thread/1147823739/Want+to+build+your+own+ant+moat-

Susan Louise,
They are a piece of cake if I can do it anyone can. You don't have to use spray can lids either. You can use a tuna fish can or those small cans of vegetables or whatever is available
