Here's an update through May 8th, showing the migration at 3 day intervals. If you want, you can put it on pause and go frame by frame, backwards or forwards, as slowly or as quickly as you like. Enjoy!

Kristin,

THANKS for taking the time to put this together - VERY COOL time-lapse of their progression northward.

I THINK I saw one buzz near my Christmas Cheer azaleas yesterday - but I only got a quick glimpse. Feeders are up but no hits yet.

Thanks, Connie. It does take a bit of Photoshopping to get all those little dots right. I enjoy watching their progress. Nice to know it's being appreciated.

I'll try to keep it updated as we go through April. Won't be long now before they're filling in the northern US and finding their way into Canada. Hope you get your hummingbirds soon. Can't be long now!

Conny, that is exactly how the first hummingbirds happen for me, a quick buzz that leaves me wondering whether I was in my right mind. This time of year I'm so concerned with gardening issues that I forget about the reason for the plants for days. Yesterday was the first time in a week I remembered there was a full feeder hanging just beyond the porch door. Once the Orchard Orioles are singing in the fruit trees my attention will be more focused.

I just updated this through May 8th, so thought I'd bump it up. I got behind and had to do 5 weeks all at once. What a difference those weeks have made!

It's tough integrating the Canadian and North American maps together, but I prefer them joined, not separate as in Lanny's migration maps. There may be a few distortions or even outright mistakes along the border and into Canada, but I think it's mostly right.
