The Females have arrived !

As you know, my first male arrived 4/3. Then a second a few days later and a third a few days after that. They have all been chasing each other around the patio, where there are 3 feeders set up, for a week or so now.

Well...yesterday they were gone it seemed. I didn't see them all day. Same thing this morning...no hummers? Then at 3:30 this afternoon, I stepped out on the patio and heard the weirdest sound. Sorta like a squeaky wheel or something. Then I saw him. Doing the "U" thing across the patio in front of me. Course, it wasn't for me [linked image] . And then - there she was, right onto the feeder at the patio window next to my head...no camera in hand unfortunately, but the "ladies" are here! Yippee again! [linked image]

That's great! I saw a male doing that U thing yesterday too. That was the first time I had witnessed it.

I have at least 3 females here now in addition to one (lucky) male. The male has been with me for three years now and goes by the name of Clyde. That's him in my descriptor pic. But I have a fondness for my females...they're what gives me more hummingbirds year by year! [linked image]
