fertilizer

How much fertilizer and how often right after the cutting from black and blue salvias.I mean before going into the ground .

Hello Eldon,

I don't use fertilizer in our gardens for anything...
I just add compost (which has plenty of nutrients) to the existing soil and mix it in well.
Check out my thread I started called "Another trip back from one of our local nurseries" and you'll see some pics of how big and tall our Black and Blue Salvia got...[linked image]

I want to know how much fertilizer is needed they are in larger pot till may or afterword black and blue salvias.

Am I better off leave them alone till first of May .It is alittle bit too early here in central ill toplant.The farmers are not even out planting corn too wet and too cold.

Eldon,
I usually don't fertilize nursery grown plants that I buy except for when I first transplant them from the pot into the ground. Like Susan Louise I also use compost around the plants. If I do use fertilizer, I use 1 teaspoon of miracle grow in 2 gallons of water. If the plants are doing well right now I would leave them alone until you get ready to plant them
